OUR LADY OF GRACE
SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL (OLAG)

What’s in a name?

The school's motto, "Knowledge, Morality, and Service," reflects its deep-rooted values. Named after Our Lady of Grace Parish in Minnesota, the school has a special connection to St. Joseph's Parish in Mamponteng, Ghana, thanks to a longstanding sister parish relationship that began when Fr. John Opuko served as a weekend associate at Most Holy Trinity Parish.

What began over a decade ago as a humble partnership has blossomed into a remarkable achievement: the establishment of a school in Ghana that now serves 1,000 students.

Today, OLAG proudly celebrates the success of 1,730 graduates. Among them, numerous alumni are pursuing higher education, including six studying in the United States. Furthermore, 126 graduates have achieved advanced degrees, with several continuing their studies toward master’s degrees.

The School Organizational Structure

Our Lady of Grace Senior High School was led by Rev. Fr. Paul Attah-Nsiah until 2014, when Mr. Stephen Kwame Anokye, formerly the headmaster of Opoku Ware Catholic Senior High School, became the first substantive headmaster. Under his leadership, the school has been supported by a dedicated team, including department heads and housemasters/housemistresses who manage the boarding houses.

To ensure students' voices are heard, a Student Representative Council was established, while a School Disciplinary Committee—comprising both staff and student representatives—addresses any breaches of the school's code of conduct. This committee is further supported by the chaplain and the School Oversight Committee.

Additionally, a Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) was formed to discuss the school’s progress and students’ welfare. The inaugural PTA meeting took place on December 15, 2013, and the association continues to meet every term to foster collaboration and address any concerns.

— Mission Statement

Student Assistance

In the school's inaugural year, it became apparent that many students and their families were struggling to pay school fees. Despite their academic excellence and good conduct, these students faced significant financial barriers. In response, the oversight committee established an Education Sub-Committee tasked with creating criteria for providing financial assistance and scholarships to deserving students.

Generous contributions from parish members at Our Lady of Grace Church in Edina, Minnesota, as well as local individuals, have supported this initiative. However, additional support is needed to fully fund and operationalize the student assistance program, ensuring that more students can benefit from the educational opportunities they deserve.
